“And whoever obeys Allah and His Messenger has already won a magnificent success.” (Qur’an, 33:71)

In the name of Allah, the Most Compassionate, the Most Merciful.

Dear reader, each of us are tested in life. How do we win the tests of life?

☀️ 1. Firstly, recognize you are being tested.

When we recognize, when we become cognizant, aware that we are being tested, that things that come in our life is a test, this will make the test easier.

😡 As an example, a person is really angry. He is about to lose it. And then he gets a text message 💬 saying: This is social experiment. You are being tested how patient you can be. Please do not lose control.

😇 Immediately his anger will vanish. He knows this is a test.

Like that, when we understand, when we have that mindset, I am being tested, we will be able to deal with it.

So something bad happens. Some rude person screams at you 😱. Your car breaks down. Smile and say “I’m being tested.”

Smile and say:

Sufficient for us is Allah , and how excellent is the Trustee. (3:173)

When someone tries to take you away from Allah, when someone invites you to sin, when someone is backbiting and you are encouraged to participate, smile to yourself 🙂and say “I know what’s going on. I’m being tested.”

☀️ 2. Focus on the Action Instead of the Outcome

We are so much concerned with the outcomes of matters. What we should realize is the outcomes is in the hands of Allah.

“And to Allah belongs the outcome of [all] matters.” (22:41)

What is more important than the outcomes themselves is what we do in trying to reach the outcomes. That’s more important. That is exactly the test.

As for the outcomes don’t be concerned and worried about what will happen. For that is in God’s control. Worry about doing the right thing 🌸 and making the right choices. For you are being tested in that.

Allah says:

And We test you with evil and with good as trial (Al Ambiya, 21:35)

And We will surely test you (Al Baqarah, 21:55)

And We have made some of you as trial for others — will you have patience? (Al Furqan, 25:20)

Who created death and life to test you.. (Al Mulk, 67:2)

Alif, Lam, Meem. Do the people think that they will be left to say, “We believe” and they will not be tried? (29:1–2)

☀️3. Put Life in Perspective

Remember that the ultimate life is the next life. This life is only temporary.

☀️ 4. Be empowered with Knowledge

📖 In order to win the tests of life, acquire knowledge. Knowledge of Quran and Sunnah. Knowledge that will help you win life’s tests.

Allah says:

Only the knowledgeable fear Allah from among His slaves.(35:28)

⚔️ The knowledge of the religion will give you weapons, it will give you ammunition to win the tests of life. It will change your mindset. It will make you see things differently.

☀️ 5. The Prayer, the Prayer!

The prayer will help you win life’s tests.

And seek help through patience and prayer. (2:45)

And establish prayer. Indeed, prayer prohibits obscenity and wrongdoing, and the remembrance of Allah is greater. (29:45)

When we are engaged in prayer, we are connecting to Allah 💖. This connection will help us in life’s test. It will give us comfort in difficulty. It will give us strength in times of laziness. It will keep us humble in times of pride. It will be a means of seeking Allah’s help and guidance.

It is You we worship and You we ask for help. Guide us to the straight path. (Al Qur’an, 1)

The 5–10 mins of time we put aside for Allah, this will bring in blessings.

☀️ 6. Gratitude, Patience and Remembrance

In good times, a believer should thank Allah, and in bad times be patient.

The good should not make him forget Allah and the bad times should not make him blame Allah, his fate and be impatient.

☀️ 7. Obey Allah and His Messenger ﷺ

Finally, the way to win this test is to obey Allah and HIs Messenger,

And whoever obeys Allah and His Messenger has already won a magnificent success. (33:71)
