When Fear Will Save You

Fear is often seen as a negative emotion. But what if this fear saves you?

Praise be to Allah, the praise of the grateful.

He guides the believers from layers of darkness to light,

He revives the hearts,

And gives relief to the chests,

Removes distress,

And say, “[All] praise is [due] to Allah . He will show you His signs, and you will recognize them.

Dear brothers and sisters,

I advise myself to fear Allah. As Prophets of Allah before told their people:

فَاتَّقُوا اللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُونِ

Fear Allah and obey me.

One who always fears Allah and remembers Him will be blessed, and his life will be blessed. Isa (Jesus), alaihis salam said:

وَجَعَلَنِي مُبَارَكًا أَيْنَ مَا كُنتُ

And He has made me blessed wherever I am

Allah is Most Forgiving, but His punishment is also very strict!

[Noah said]: indeed I am to you a clear warner,

Inform My servants [O Muhammad ﷺ] that it is I who am the Forgiving, the Merciful. And that it is My punishment which is the painful punishment.

The people of knowledge fear Him.

It is only those who have knowledge among His slaves that fear Allah.

But this fear will save us. It will protect us.

There was a man who never did any good. And he said that after he dies, he should be burnt, and half his ashes should be thrown in the sea and the other half in the land.

The man was afraid if Allah got hold of him, he will punish him like he would not punish anyone else.

So Allah ordered the sea to collect whatever was in it, and ordered the earth to collect whatever was in it, and he asked him why did you do so? He said for your fear and you know better. So Allah forgave him

(See Bukhari, https://sunnah.com/bukhari:7506)

I seek forgiveness for myself and the rest of the Muslims. Seek Allah’s forgiveness, He is truly the extremely Forgiving, the very Merciful.

Alhamdulillah, praise be to Allah, the praise of the grateful.

And blessings be upon our Prophet ﷺ.

Dear brothers and sisters, when a person asks Allah’s forgiveness, it protects them. It brings blessings to their life.

and Allah would not punish them while they seek forgiveness.

Nuh said to his people,

And said, ‘Ask forgiveness of your Lord. Indeed, He is one who forgives again and again and again.

He will send [rain from] the sky upon you in [continuing] showers

And He will supply you with wealth and children and make for you gardens and make for you rivers.

Let us make a habit of always asking Allah’s forgiveness. Saying Astaghfirullah. Astaghfirullah. Throughout the day and night.

Let us turn back to Allah after we make any mistake. Let us ask His forgiveness and turn back to Him.

For those who turn back to Him again and again become His beloved.

A scholar Shaikh Ali Rantawi رحمة الله عليه says he was wondering if Allah loves him. So he checked the Qur’an to see what are the characteristics of the people that Allah has mentioned He loves them for.

So he found that Allah loves Al-Muttaqeen (the pious), he says “I wouldn’t dare consider myself one of them”.

Then he found that Allah loves As-Sabireen (the patient). So he remembered; “How impatient I am.”..

Then he found He loves Al-Muhsineen (those who do good deeds). So he remembered how far he is from that.

“So I stopped searching to avoid more disappointment. I reflected on my good deeds, I found most of them are mixed with laziness, coldness, flaws and sins.

Then it came to my mind that Allah loves the at-Tawwabeen (those who repeatedly repent). I just figured out it is the one for me and for others like me.

So I started saying “Astaghfirullaha Wa Atubu Ilaih” (I seek Allah’s forgiveness and I repent to Him) in abundance so I could be one of the ones Allah loves.” (Al Kauthar May 10, 2014)

And peace be upon the messengers

And praise be to Allah, the Lord of the worlds.
